Recipe Methodology

1. Curation and development

Recipes are selected and developed to fill genuine needs in our library — covering a broad range of cuisines, skill levels, dietary patterns, and budgets. When we build out a cuisine, we prioritize signature, representative dishes and describe them accurately within their culinary tradition.

2. Structured editorial review

Before publication, each curated recipe is reviewed against a consistent checklist: are the instructions clear, complete, and in the right order? Do the ingredients match the steps? Are quantities, servings, and timings specified? Is the dish described honestly? A recipe is not published until it meets these criteria.

3. Nutrition estimation

Nutrition figures are estimated from standard ingredient references and typical serving sizes, then presented as estimates. They are intended for everyday planning and are not precise or medical values; actual figures vary with brands, substitutions, and portioning.

4. Allergen and dietary labeling

Recipes are tagged for common allergens and dietary patterns using a consistent, canonical set of categories so that filters behave predictably. Labels reflect ingredients as written and are not a substitute for reading full ingredient lists.

5. Use of AI, with human review

We may use AI to help draft, structure, or estimate parts of a recipe. AI-assisted output is reviewed by the editorial team before publication and held to the same standards as all other content. See our AI Transparency statement.

6. Continuous improvement

Publication is not the end. We monitor community ratings, reviews, and feedback and revise recipes when we learn they can be clearer, more accurate, or more reliable. Significant revisions update the recipe accordingly.
